Social mobility masterclass for employers #2: Hiring
Hiring the best talent, with Accenture
Tuesday 25 August 2020, 3pm
The second session in our employers’ masterclass series is Hiring, which is all about reaching talent – attracting individuals from less privileged backgrounds who may not traditionally apply for roles within your organisation, yet may be able to make a significant contribution in future.
And once you have attracted those diverse applicants, ensuring there is an open recruitment process and no additional barriers unfairly impacting a candidate’s success (such as unconscious bias at interview).
This session will take the form of:
– a short presentation by the Social Mobility Commission;
– in-depth case-study from Accenture;
– interactive workshop in which to explore ideas, share insights and tackle some of the challenges.
On the back of this workshop we will be sharing a checklist to help you refine your ideas and develop a ‘best-practice’ recruitment process.
In the meantime, you can also view our employers’ toolkit, which will give you practical ideas on how to ensure recruitment pathways are open to all – such as briefing agencies on your commitment to diversity, offering flexible working or non-graduate routes where possible.
We hope that you will join us for what should be an insightful and inspiring session for employers looking to hire a diverse pool of talent.
